The route planned so far takes us through 19 countries. England, France, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and finally Australia.

This route is not set in stone and may have to change. We've already had to modify our plans after we discovered difficulty in taking cars into both Burma (Myanmar) and China. Also right hand drive vehicles aren't allowed in Vietnam, so we will be going there without our trusted steed!
The Route through Iran and Pakistan is not always open and as you can imagine not always very wise. We will have to keep our eyes peeled for changes in the political climate.
Due to the difficulty in getting past India by car, we intend to ship the car from India to Thailand (red line). So while Hercules goes on a cruise, we will use the time to visit Vietnam by plane (blue line) and then make it to Thailand in time to pick up the car.
As many people have expertedly pointed out, there are a few places where we shall come across various expanses of water. On these occasions will be leaving the road and either taking a ferry, or shipping the vehicle and meeting it at the other end.
